This triple disc converter features a billet front cover and can be ordered with the stock stator, or a billet stator that’s guaranteed to never break. If you plan to drag race, sled pull, or perform boosted launches, you will need to upgrade to a billet stator for an additional $250. The chart below shows the K factor and torque ratios as related to our converter stalls. Below is how to interpret the K-Factor and Torque Ratio numbers:
• The lower the k factor number the better the converter will couple, the higher the k factor number the easier it will spool up.
• The torque ratio number is the torque multiplication number – i.e. if you have a 1.85 TR, for every 100 lbs of input torque the converter will deliver 185 lbs of output torque (this is at a 0 speed ratio or at converter stall ). This ratio will go down as the speed ratio goes up.

At Goerend we care about our customers - our multiple patents have PERFORMANCE in mind – they have been created to cure specific performance problems – not patented simply to ease the manufacturing process!
We have been in the automotive field since 1947 – with a focus on diesel trucks and converters for the past 40 years. At Goerend’s we value QUALITY not quantity, which is why we have invested in several on-site specialty tools and quality equipment to allow us to manufacture and test our products beyond what our competition can do – making us a top producer of quality converters for diesel trucks. One of our specialty equipment pieces is our one-of-a-kind SuperFlow dyno which is comparable to the type of equipment found in research labs at the OE (Original Equipment) Level – i.e. GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, ETC. Allison converters that are ordered with a stock stator should NOT be used for sled pulling, boosted launches, towing, or drag racing. The stock stator is made from aluminum which becomes soft at high temperatures and may cause the stator to break. If the stator breaks, the small pieces then fly around inside the converter and become lodged in the impeller and turbine – in turn completely ruining the converter. At Goerend Transmission, we manufacture BILLET stators that have a lifetime warranty and are “GOEREND-TEED” to never break. If you plan on doing any sled pulling, boosted launches, towing, or drag racing – you must upgrade to a billet converter to avoid any possible damage.
