**Stall Speeds listed above are approximate & will vary based on engine torque - there is additional information to help you determine which converter would be best for your truck BELOW - if you have questions on which stall to order, please call us at (563) 778-2719**

Torque Converter Core Charge: You must select the additional $500 core charge to complete your order. The core that is returned to Goerend Transmission must be a usable core of the same model (i.e. if you are purchasing a converter for a 2006 truck - the core you return MUST be from a 2006 truck), NO part of the core may be rusty, NO part of the core may be damaged in any way. IF any of these statements are true about your core, you may receive only a partial credit towards your core OR you may not receive any of your core deposit back. When we receive a usable core of the same model that has not been modified, the core charge will be refunded with a credit to your credit card. If you have any questions about what cores are accepted - please call us! The $500 core charge IS A DEPOSIT - not the price to keep your core. Click HERE to learn more about which types of cores are acceptable to send back to us See our Shipping and Return page to learn how to safely return your core to us and receive your full core refund.

The chart below shows the K factor and torque ratios as related to our converter stalls. Below is how to interpret the K-Factor and Torque Ratio numbers:

• The lower the k factor number the better the converter will couple, the higher the k factor number the easier it will spool up.

• The torque ratio number is the torque multiplication number – i.e. if you have a 1.85 TR, for every 100 lbs of input torque the converter will deliver 185 lbs of output torque (this is at a 0 speed ratio or at converter stall ). This ratio will go down as the speed ratio goes up.

"G" BILLET STATOR 1800-1900 RPM STALL 95 1.8
"X" BILLET STATOR 1800-1900 RPM STALL 93 1.93
"E" BILLET STATOR 1800-2200 RPM STALL 98 1.8
"C" STOCK STATOR 1900-2200 RPM STALL 99 1.8

In the future we will be adding more of this type of information and are more than happy to explain the differences should you ask.

What sets our converters apart from the competition?

We design, manufacture, and build our converters as well as many of the internal converter components in-house from start to finish. This ensures that our dimensions are correct and will work with your transmission! Since our converters are all produced in-house, when you call us you are talking directly to the manufacturer – which is very rare in this business – and allows us to answer all of your questions quickly and accurately. Our 7 in-house CNC machines are used to manufacture our billet converter covers, billet clutch dampers, stators, stator caps, races, and many more of the components in our converter builds. Our knowledge, equipment, and PATENTED converter components allow us to build your converter to match your needs – no matter if you use it as a daily driver – or a dedicated race truck! At Goerend we care about our customers - our multiple patents have PERFORMANCE in mind – they have been created to cure specific performance problems – not patented simply to ease the manufacturing process!

We have been in the automotive field since 1947 – with a focus on diesel trucks and converters for the past 40 years. At Goerend’s we value QUALITY not quantity, which is why we have invested in several on-site specialty tools and quality equipment to allow us to manufacture and test our products beyond what our competition can do – making us a top producer of quality converters for diesel trucks. One of our specialty equipment pieces is our one-of-a-kind SuperFlow dyno which is comparable to the type of equipment found in research labs at the OE (Original Equipment) Level – i.e. GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, ETC. It is used to test our converters for: Torque Converter Pump K-Factor, Turbine K-Factor, Speed Ratio, and MUCH more! See more of our equipment pictures on our “Goerend Equipment Page”.

Allison converters that are ordered with a stock stator should NOT be used for sled pulling, boosted launches, towing, or drag racing. The stock stator is made from aluminum which becomes soft at high temperatures and may cause the stator to break. If the stator breaks, the small pieces then fly around inside the converter and become lodged in the impeller and turbine – in turn completely ruining the converter. At Goerend Transmission, we manufacture BILLET stators that have a lifetime warranty and are “GOEREND-TEED” to never break. If you plan on doing any sled pulling, boosted launches, towing, or drag racing – you must upgrade to a billet converter to avoid any possible damage. You can find images of our billet stator machining process on our “Equipment Page”
