Product Description

Goerend Triple Disc Torque Converter 5.9L Cummins (1994-2007)

All Goerend converters were developed using a chassis dyno, transmission dyno, and extensive testing on live trucks.

FEATURES:   •Triple Disc Converter   •Billet front cover   •Ideal for modified trucks that tow, commute, or race    •If purchased with a Limited Lifetime Warranty: Price includes 1 FREE Stall Change (within the first year to the original owner)

STALL SPEED: Different stall speeds are available for this converter, depending on your truck's horsepower level and turbo size(s). The chart below can help you to determine what stall speed is right for you!

Choose Your Stall Speed:
The most versatile converter offered. It is loose enough to spool most turbos, in most elevations and climates, while maximizing low end grunt and keeping the torque converter tight enough when the turbo lights and horsepower is being made. This converter should go in trucks that TOW and WORK HARD.  Approximately 200-400 RPM lower than a stock converter.
This converter works well with: •Stock turbos from 0 to 11,000 foot elevation   •2nd generation dodges (0 to 4,000 foot elevation) with stock to 58mm turbos   •3rd generation dodges (0 to 4,000 foot elevation) with stock to 62mm turbos

Used for light to heavy towing. This converter stall is equivalent to a STOCK converter stall.
This converter works well with: •2nd generation dodges with 60-62mm turbos @ 0 to 4,000 foot elevation   •3rd generation dodges with 63-71mm turbos   •0 to 4,000 foot elevation with 67-71mm turbos   •0 to 11,000 foot elevation on 63-66mm turbos

This converter will be approximately 300 RPM looser than stock. It is a higher stall to help get large turbos spooled. THIS STALL IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR TOWING.

We have many other options for stall speeds if none of these fit your application. Please call us to discuss (563) 778-2719

What sets our converters apart from the competition?

We design, manufacture, and build our converters as well as many of the internal converter components in-house from start to finish. This ensures that our dimensions are correct and will work with your transmission! Since our converters are all produced in-house, when you call us you are talking directly to the manufacturer – which is very rare in this business – and allows us to answer all of your questions quickly and accurately. Our 7 in-house CNC machines are used to manufacture our billet converter covers, billet clutch dampers, stators, stator caps, races, and many more of the components in our converter builds. Our knowledge, equipment, and PATENTED converter components allow us to build your converter to match your needs – no matter if you use it as a daily driver – or a dedicated race truck! At Goerend we care about our customers - our multiple patents have PERFORMANCE in mind – they have been created to cure specific performance problems – not patented simply to ease the manufacturing process!

We have been in the automotive field since 1947 – with a focus on diesel trucks and converters for the past 40 years. At Goerend’s we value QUALITY not quantity, which is why we have invested in several on-site specialty tools and quality equipment to allow us to manufacture and test our products beyond what our competition can do – making us a top producer of quality converters for diesel trucks. One of our specialty equipment pieces is our one-of-a-kind SuperFlow dyno which is comparable to the type of equipment found in research labs at the OE (Original Equipment) Level – i.e. GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, ETC. It is used to test our converters for: Torque Converter Pump K-Factor, Turbine K-Factor, Speed Ratio, and MUCH more! See more of our equipment pictures on our “Goerend Equipment Page”.

Torque Converter Core Charge: The core that is returned to Goerend Transmission must be a useable core of the same model. When we receive a useable core of the same model that has not been modified, the core charge will be refunded with a credit to your credit card. The $300 core charge IS A DEPOSIT - not the price to keep your core.

Please allow 2-5 business days before shipment. Fixed freight cost ONLY applies to UPS Ground Shipping. If you select anything other than ground freight on a converter order we will need to contact you to discuss availability & adjust freight amount. If you need a rush order, please call us at (563) 778-2719

I have a 48re fully built by Goerend back in 2011 I have put roughly 40k miles on it and I also sled pull and have put 20 plus hooks on it and it's never skipped a beat. There torque converters are stout along with all the internals of the transmission. Wouldn't go to anyone else but Goerend.

I am not especially nice on my '06 Cummins. 20 psi boost launches in 4hi, twin turbo mega duallies are fun. Everytime I do it, I am waiting for it to grenade, or at least get a little tired. Nope!! I cannot be happier. If this thing ever does start getting weak, you can bet I will replace it with another from Goerend. Best in the business

purchased a 47re converter for a 97 dodge in 2007. Mostly stock truck except for 3000gsk kit and some other tweeks. Towed long distance and heavy for a while. Now live in mountains. pulls hard, get lots of compliments on how the converter shifts and pulls. Very happy with how it works and how I was treated by staff. very helpful. have sent a few friends there to purchase as well.
